GOALS:

• To explain the concept of 'leadership mandate' and how it applies in evaluating new situations.
• To provide a diagnostic framework for mandates, overlapping mandates, and stealth mandates. This framework includes questions to ask.
• To provide concrete suggestions to help participants manage new leadership roles.

SUMMARY:

This talk is being turned into an article to be published in MIT SLOAN MANAGEMENT REVIEW in Spring, 2007.
